Day 3 From Chicago to Nauvoo, IL

We are flexible people so a few days before we decided to make changes in our road trip. Our 3rd night we decided to stop in Nauvoo, IL (a historical Mormon site). This is were the Prophet Joseph Smith is buried and a beautiful town was built for the early Mormon pioneers.
Here are our pictures at Carthage's Jail:

I couldn't take Champ with us on the tour (even though at the same time their was a guide dog that got to go and it made me jealous champ isn't that cool). So I stayed outside while Joe took the tour. (he had never been, hence me staying outside)

Road trip clothes and unflattering (enough said)
Nauvoo Temple on a beautiful Monday evening.
Joe in front of Joseph Smith, and Hyrum Smith. and then we have Joseph Hyrum Richardson (parents are big church history fans)
I was so stoked when I found this camp site for $3 per person a night. whoo hoo! to bad it was next to the mississippi and bug and sweat was EVERYWHERE and I don't think either one of us got a good night sleep.
Here's our camp spot. We were the only ones brave enough to camp in June.

Next morning we were off to drive through KANSAS!!! I was sooooo excited..
